Dear OMs

I expect most of you have heard the latest news from Cross Hills. This morning we received confirmation from John Clark  that  James and Jonathan Seddon have bought Malsis and there is a good article in last Saturday's Yorkshire Post about the purchase.  John knows the brothers well. They were together at Malsis from 1981/82 until 1984 and 1985.  They both moved on to Sedbergh and while at Malsis were direct contemporaries of John and Pam’s son Jeremy.  They went on skiing holidays, walked the Three Peaks with them, immersed themselves in every activity possible and their parents were highly supportive. John says It remains to be seen what their proposed plans will be.  .  Tim has already posted several articles on our website and we will keep up with the news as it develops. John Clark will be writing to them, as he will to Ryan O'Neill, another of their vintage (joined 1986), who will be most disappointed that he is no longer in contention. I would also like to express my admiration for Ryan and Adrian’s ambitious efforts in the name of preparatory school education and the revival of Malsis as a school. They gave it their best shot, but it was not to be. We now move on with the knowledge that Malsis will at least be in the hands of two former pupils who hold similar feelings of nostalgia and respect for our old Alma Mater and those who made it happen for us.   John and Jamie are going to need our support if they are to be truly successful in their venture.

Thanks very much to those of you who have contacted us over the past  weeks and, as always, I feel I must apologies for any delay in getting back to you. (I’m Just recovering from an extended  busy season with our  international students, followed by overseas marketing trips this autumn, but now I’m back in UK with a bit of time to attend to OM matters. I will will be sending out a second mailshot soon to invite and encourage members, young and old,  to send in material of interest to our readers of the website!

Also, now that  Annus Horribilis is nearing its end, John and I both feel that 2016 should be a suitable year for at least one OM Reunion. (I guess there’ll be no shortage of things to talk about!)

 Best regards
